The deadline given to overseas Pakistani to get themselves registered in order to participate in the by-elections ended on Monday (today).
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had earlier extended the deadline for registration from September 15 till September 17 (today). The deadline was extended by the electoral body in order to ensure the maximum number of registration of overseas Pakistanis.
On the day of by-election, overseas voters will be given nine hours to cast their votes, as per Pakistan Standard time, 8am till 5pm. Only those abroad will be allowed to vote who have National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) or Machine Readable Passport (MRP).

On the day of polling, the voter will access his account along with the voter pass emailed to him and cast his vote in the constituencies his vote is registered in. In order to further facilitate the overseas voters, the ECP has also uploaded guidance video tutorials both in Urdu and English languages on its website.
By-election will be held in 37 constituencies for both national and the provincial assemblies on October 14.
