LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hamza Shahbaz was appointed as the Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly.
A written order was issued in this regard by Punjab Assembly Speaker Pervaiz Elahi.
According to media, Hamza’s appointment had faced a delay after the Assembly Secretariat had received a complaint about forged signatures on the nomination papers.
Hamza’s father and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Shehbaz Sharif serves as the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly.
Last month, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Sardar Usman Buzdar defeated Hamza by 27 votes to get elected as chief minister of Punjab.
The 2018 Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) annual conference is scheduled for April 8 to 11 in Boao, Hainan Province. The forum will be themed "An Open and Innovative Asia for a World of Greater Prosperity."
