ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) Metering, Testing and Surveillance Directorates have detected 3,469,724 units from slow and defective meters during January.
During the monthly performance review meeting, the Manger Surveillance informed that 1,695,805 units were recovered from slow and defective meters through checking while 966,225 units were got by data retrieval.
He said some 1127 meters were checked during January and out of which 77 meters were found defective and slow. On account of slowness/defective meters 807, 694 units have been charge to consumers, he said.
Meanwhile, IESCO chief Basit Zaman appreciated the efforts of both Directorates and said that power theft was a national crime.
He vowed that IESCO would continue its efforts against electricity theft.
