Sajal Aly’s Bollywood debut Mom, released this weekend worldwide. While the highly emotional thriller was received extremely well in Pakistan and across the border, Sajal and co-actor Adnan Siddiqui could not travel to India for the release as per ban on Pakistani artists.
Starring Sridevi, Akshaye Khanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in titular roles, the film opened to positive feedback from both the audiences and critics alike. The director Ravi Udyawar seems to have done a brilliant job of telling a thrilling story.
Recently, after the film’s release, Sridevi gave her two cents about the film and what it was like shooting for Mom. While talking about the same, the Hawa Hawai star couldn’t help but get teary eyed when talking about Adnan, who plays her husband in the film and Sajal, who plays her daughter.
When it came to talking about these two actors, a heavily emotional Sridevi who was almost on the verge of breaking down added, “I really miss you all, the way you all have worked in this film is beyond compare. I can’t even imagine this film without you all. It is a very special moment for us; we have been waiting for this so much. All the best and see you soon.”
Sajal took to Instagram to share the video, expressing her love for her on-screen mother. She wrote, “This was actually a surprise to me yesterday. I felt like she was there throughout. I couldn’t hold back myself from crying. I am out of words.”
