China’s Kekexili National Nature Reserve has been added to the world heritage list, making it the 51st and largest world heritage site in China.
Known also as Hoh Xil, which means ‘Beautiful Girl’, the natural reserve is one of the largest, highest and most abundant nature parks in China, and is filled with snow-capped mountains, grasslands, clear lakes and wild animals.
Covering an area of 45,000 square kilometer, it is home to several endangered species, including the Tibetan antelope.
It was designated as a national nature reserve in 1995.
