In a tweet message, Imran said that all government organisations were operating beneath Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif hence it was not possible for them to carry out an independent investigation into the premier’s alleged offshore wealth.
He quoted the JIT’s stance in the Supreme Court today when it said that impediments were being placed in the Panama Leaks investigation.
Meanwhile, PTI leader Jahangir Tareen said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would not step down and as long as the premier was in office, an independent inquiry was not possible. Tareen said the Supreme Court of Pakistan should issue an order to the Prime Minister to resign.
Meanwhile, Shafqat Mahmood termed the recent Nehal Hashmi episode as a ‘drama’ and said that PML-N was trying to entail the JIT with controversies.
