ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Thursday summoned Indian Deputy High Commissioner J.P. Singh and condemned the unprovoked ceasefire violation by Indian occupation forces in the night of 10th and 11th May, 2017, on the Line of Control.
The Indian firing in Tandar, Subzkot, Khuiratta, Baroh, Bagsar and Khanjar sectors resulted in death of one civilian Muhammad Rizwan r/o village Subzkot, Subzkot sector and injuries to two others including a lady, Willayat Bibi r/o village Subzkot, Subzkot sector and Abdul Aziz r/o village Tain, Khuiratta sector.
Director General (SA & SAARC) Dr. Mohammad Faisal said that the deliberate targeting of civilians is indeed condemnable and contrary to human dignity and international human rights and humanitarian laws.
The Director General urged the Indian side to respect the 2003 Ceasefire Understanding; investigate this and other incidents of ceasefire violations; instruct the Indian forces to respect the ceasefire, in letter and spirit and maintain peace on the LoC.
