RUDRAPUR: Two people have been booked for gangraping a 17-year-old girl in the Shivnagar locality under Transit Camp police station here on Monday. While one of the accused, Hariprakash, 40, has been arrested, another named Sunil, 32, is on the run, police said.
According to a complaint registered with the police, the accused men, Hariprakash and Sunil, lured the minor girl to the latter’s house on April 11 and drugged her. The two later raped the girl. Station house officer, Transit Camp, Sushil Singh confirmed that while Hariprakash has been arrested, investigations are on to nab Sunil.
The two men were booked under sections 363 (punishment for kidnapping), 366 (kidnapping, abducting or inducing woman to compel her to marriage), 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement), 323 (causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code and section 5/6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
