The Chinese cargo ship detained at India’s Haldia port has been released by the authorities.
After finishing departure procedures, the ship with her 23 crew members abroad will embark on its journey back to east China’s Jiangsu province.
The ship set off from Nantong, east China in July last year, unloaded at Haldia port in December, and was then detained for over two months.
The company that owned the ship went bankrupt last December and failed to pay refueling expenses to overseas oil companies.
The freighter “Union Demeter” is owned by Nanjing Tranvast Holdings Limited and all crew members are from Nanjing Yuanteng shipping company. – CRI
