ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday consolidated a case regarding Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party funds and disqualification of its chief Imran Khan.
The petitioner Hashim Ali Bhuta’s lawyer stated that Imran Khan had lied to the ECP and between 2001 and 2013 $ 2992000 were received by the party as foreign funds.
The petition added that Imran Khan had said that he never received any funds from a foreign country and therefore he did not meet the requirements laid down by article 62 and 63.
The lawyer added that Imran Khan had submitted fake certificates in the ECP
After an initial hearing held today the ECP sent a notice to Imran Khan.
