Islamabad: Speakers of different religious organizations and leadership of different religious sects addressing at “Unity of Ummah Conference” that held here on Wednesday under aegis of Pakistan Ulema Council reiterated to initiate joint struggle to ensure law and order and religious harmony during the ongoing month of Muharram-ul-Haram. Leadership and representatives of different schools of thought and religious sects vowed to ensure cooperation with government to ensure peace and religious harmony during Muharram-ul-Haram adding that Ulemas, Mashaykh and ‘Shia Zakireen’ in their speeches during Muharram will ensure respect for their respective opposing schools of thought and ideologies.
Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi chaired the conference, while Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf attended the conference as Chief Guest, while key leadership of different religious organizations and religious sects including Syed Fakhar-ul-Hassan Kararwi, Sahibzada Zahid Mehmood Qasmi, Allama Arif Waheedi, Allama Zubair Zaheer, Maulana Ayub Safdar, Maulana Riaz Kharral, Allama Zubair Abid, Maulana Sharif Hazarwi, Maulana Abdul Hameed Watto, Maulana Asad Ullah Farooq, Maulana Asad Zikriya, Qari Ghulam Ullah, Maulana Riaz Kharral, Maulana Sharif Hazarwi, Qaei Ghulam Ullah, Maulana Abdul Hameed Sabri and Maulana Tahir Aqeel also attended the conference.
Addressing the conference, the speakers emphasized to reinforce coordination among representatives of different religious sects to ensure law and order during Muharram-ul-Haram. Believers and faithful of all the religious sects should respect and honor each other on the note, “Not to quit one’s sect and not to intervene in others sects.
The participants of “Unity of Ummah Conference” also vowed to disassociate themselves from elements responsible for airing hatful literature and making objectionable speeches during Muharram-ul-Haram. The participants also announced to support government and security forces of Pakistan adding that delegates of different religious sects will be dispatched to Islamic Countries to highlight Kashmir issues and to expose Indian aggression in Occupied Kashmir. The conference also endorse code of conduct of National Reconciliation Council that also works in aegis of Pakistan Ulema Council.
