KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan has decided to remove MQM convener based in London Nadeem Nusrat and Wasay Jalil from Rabitta Committee, said a party statement.
A key meeting of MQM Pakistan Rabitta Committee took place at Farooq Sattar’s residence in Karachi in which it was decided that the membership of the leaders would also be revoked for violating party policy.
According to the statement, Qasim Ali and Mustafa Azizabadi would also be removed from the Rabitta Committee.
In a press conference held on August 23, Farooq Sattar assumed charge of MQM Pakistan and said that the party will run its affairs from Pakistan, without taking orders from London or the founder.
Earlier, Nadeem Nusrat said in a statement that the party was nothing without the founder.
“The MQM founder gave recognition to Muhajirs,” he said, in an e-mail sent out to the media.
Founder MQM is MQM within himself, he added.
However, MQM Pakistan disassociated itself from the statements issued from London.
MQM Raabita Committee Pakistan in its earlier statement said that Nadeem Nusrat’s statement should not be considered that of MQM Pakistan, adding that the party has no link with statements coming from London.
Yesterday, MQM Pakistan had decided to launch its own website, disassociating itself from mqm.org.
An MQM Pakistan spokesman said that the website is being operated from London therefore it was decided to launch a separate website for MQM Pakistan.
He further said that the news new website will be launched soon.
