JACOBABAD: Counting of votes had begun Saturday evening as the time for polling ended for by-elections on Jacobabad’s PS-14 provincial assembly constituency.
The seat was left vacant after Pakistan People’s Party candidate Sardar Mohammad Muqeem Khan Khoso passed away.
Mir Aurangzeb Khan from PPP and Mir Raja Khan from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf are contesting the polls against each other. Aslam Abro from Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz and Dr Abdul Ghani from Jamiat Ulema Islam are also competing for the seat.
By-elections were held at 163 polling stations of which 63 were considered sensitive, while 100 were considered extremely sensitive. Rangers were deployed inside and outside polling stations.
