Police sprung to action after Owais was kidnapped by four men from superstore in Clifton Area on Monday. At least 25 suspects have been arrested in raids conducted in different parts of the city.
Geo fencing of Schon Circle where the superstore was located has been done.
Police has obtained 18 different footage of the incident and is looking at it for clues.
The task of recovering Owais has been handed to Special Security Unit (SSU). According to DSP SSU Abdur Rasheed the kidnappers car was last located at Mangopir, Northern by-pass.
Police has so far recorded statements of two eye witnesses. According to eye witnesses accounts, Owais was taken away by men in white shalwar qameez. They said he resisted kidnapping and fought with the alleged abductors.
In a high level meeting conducted on Tuesday Sindh Chief Minister directed that a report of the incident be submitted to him in three days.
Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah late on Monday ordered the concerned authorities to block the whole city to recover the son of Sindh High Court’s Chief Justice Sajjad Ali Shah, who had gone missing since afternoon.
CJ SHCs son Owais Ali Shah went for shopping at a store in Clifton earlier in the day, and has not been heard from since. His car has however been recovered from outside the shopping mall.
DG Rangers Sindh Maj General Bilal Akbar visited the superstore where Owais was kidnapped from.
The chief minister has ordered to set up check points across the city to keep all movement at check. He has asked the officials to leave no stones unturned in searching for the missing.
Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan has also taken notice of the disappearance and ordered the officials concerned to utilise all resources in recovering Owais Ali Shah.
Forensic experts are inspecting the recovered car of Owais Ali Shah for likely finger prints of the abductors.
This is not the first high profile kidnapping in the country. In August 2011, slain governor Punjab’s son Shahbaz Taseer was kidnapped from Lahore by the Taliban. He returned home after four years of torture in captivity in March this year.
Former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani’s son Ali Haider Gilani was kidnapped from an election rally in Multan in May 2013. He was rescued in an operation in Afghanistan by American forces in May this year.
