Nepra heard the plea filed by central power purchasing agency to decrease power prices by Rs 3.32 in accordance to electricity generation cost in May month.
The officials said that the production cost of electricity in May was Rs 3.45/ unit due to price cut in furnace oil but Rs 6.77/unit was charged from the consumers.
Keeping in view the power generation cost, the authorities have been urged to reduce the price for the relief of general masses.
However, K-Electric and consumers who use 300 units monthly would be deprived of this offer.
