SRINAGAR: Indian forces on Sunday released Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik after a brief detention and also ended home confinement of Syed Ali Geelani and Mir Waiz in Indian-occupied Kashmir, reports said.
Hurriyat leaders recently intensified protest against the issue of land for Indian Colony in Indian-held Kashmir. There was also a seminar to be conducted in this regard today. However, a crackdown was initiated against the Hurriyat leadership and they were stopped them from attending the seminar.
It has been reported that Yasin Malik was later released on directions by Mehbooba Mufti Sayeed, who is the current Chief Minister of occupied Kashmir.
