ISLAMABAD: Federal Anti-Corruption Court Monday has issued non-bailable arrest warrants of three Afghanistan nationals and three NADRA officials for providing Afghanistan citizens with National Identity Cards.
The citizens of the neighbouring country whose arrests were ordered are named Bashir, Shabbir and a woman, Shabana.
Officials of National Database and Registration Authority are Faisal, Hidayat and Abdul Qadir.
Federal Investigation Agency reported that the accused NADRA officials issued NICs to around 256 Afghanistan nationals in 2016.
On the other hand, the court heard a corruption reference involving embezzlement worth crores of Rupees in passport offices. The court resented DSP Arbab Magsis absence and ordered authorities concerned to halt his salary and cop him.
A notice was issued to Balochistan Inspector General (IG) to submit a report in the matter.
Earlier Afghanistan Taliban chief Mullah Akhtar Mansoor was killed in a drone strike in Balochistans Nushki area but an identity card by name Muhammad Wali was recovered from the site.
It was revealed later on that Afghanistan Taliban chief was registered under name Muhammad Wali and was named in voter list of Chaman district.
Authorities have started tightening noose around NADRA officials for issuing fake cards.
