ISLAMABAD: Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz met with Ambassador of Afghanistan to Pakistan Dr Hazrat Omar Zakhilwal to discuss regional situation on Monday.
Aziz said both the countries should not allow their territory to be used against each other. This was the first formal meeting between Pakistani and Afghani officials post Mullah Mansours death.
Aziz expressed his concern over the recent US drone attack which killed the Afghan Talibans leader. Aziz and Zakhilwal also discussed the prospects of reconciliation between the two governments.
Relations between Pakistan and the US have been sour since an American drone strike on the May 21 killed Afghan Taliban chief Mullah Mansour.
Pakistan deemed this strike an attack on its sovereignty and has stated that this has foiled peace attempts between the Taliban and the Afghan government.
