KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer Sirajul Haq on Saturday stated that he is against corruption not democracy, adding that the Panama Leaks have placed irremovable stains on the characters of the country’s politicians.
Siraj inaugurated ‘Corruption-free Pakistan signatory campaign’ in Karachi and while addressing to the media after an event he stated that the banner with the signatures of ten million Pakistanis will be presented in the National Assembly (NA). He said that corruption and Pakistan cannot go along together, adding that the corrupt lot will sell the country if the current situation does not change.
Siraj stated that investigations regarding the Panama Leaks have been initiated around the globe whereas in Pakistan a commission has yet not been formed to probe into the matter.
JI Ameer said that the party has made 13 Terms of References (TORs) regarding the commission that will probe into the matter. He said that agreements on information sharing at international level is as important as curbing the dacoits and the corrupt present in the country.
