While addressing a press conference, PTI chief said that the condition of law and order in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa before and after PTI took control over the governance is eminent before all as conditions in the province have improved. He added that 70% of the patients who are treated in Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital (SKMCH) are deserving people. Referring towards the government’s ministers, Khan said that “they are not ashamed of leveling allegations against a hospital in order to hide their corruption”. He also said that if the ministers were concerned in regards to the condition of the hospitals of the country, they would have not stated anything against SKMCH.
He inquired that why was no action taken if the money earned through SKMCH was invested in unfair businesses, adding that it was the first instance that there ever occurred a protest in order to hide corruption. Referring to United Kingdom’s Prime Minister (PM) David Cameron, Khan said that Cameron did not blackmail the opposition in his country through his party members; “the government’s responsibility is to catch the culprits, not to blackmail”, he said. He further added that after the onset of the Panama Leaks, PM Cameron made public his tax details regarding the past six months.
Khan lambasted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, stating that the PM was raised in by a dictator and that he is unaware of democracy. He said that PM Nawaz turns the election commission towards his side by manipulating it. He said that the PM Nawaz Sharif’s government is more tyrannical than that of Musharraf and that the latter’s performance was also better than the former’s.
Khan stated that the PM needs to answer four questions, which are: from where did the money come from, how was it taken outside the country, when did he purchased the property and whether tax was paid in regards to it or not.
He said that the statements being made by the PM’s children are diverging. He inquired from the PM as from did he get the money to purchase the Mayfair apartment. “If the people are not given answers to this, they will perceive that the property was purchased through corruption or money laundering”, Khan stated. He further said that this is no explanation that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is also corrupt thus no action needs to be taken against it. “Those who are corrupt should be curtailed instead of being black mailed”, he stated.
Khan said that according to the National Accountabilty Bureau (NAB), corruption worth Rs 11 billion is done on daily basis. He alleged that property worth Rs 700 billion was purchased in Dubai by the PM s family. He added that the PM scolded NAB Chairman a few days ago, the reason behind the latter being rather inactive now-a-days.
Imran Khan said that the whole nation stands next to the Army Chief s statement in regards to corruption. He said that a new Accountability Act was made in KP and that all political parties agreed over it. He also said that General Hamid s reservations have also been clarified through the Act. He added that the KP government is trying to make the institutions sovereign, so that they may function without any interference.
He also said that the Bank of Khyber issue is not related to corruption.
