LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Friday stated that his party will hit the roads if investigation regarding the Panama Leaks is not held transparently.
While addressing the media after having a meeting with the Members of the Punjab Assembly, Khan said that this time the sit-in will not be staged at the D-Chowk but will be held at Raiwind, further adding that the line of action in this regards will be announced on April 24.
Khan stated that everyone must know that the decisive hour is here. He added that “the rulers have indebted the country” and that they keep their earnings abroad through money laundering.
Khan said that the farmers are being financially murdered and that poverty rate is increasing day by day. He stated that in a democratic system, the rulers respond if they are ever alleged however one can expect no answers from the “courtiers”. He said that the Sharif family should disclose on its own regarding its possessions.
While criticising Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif, Khan added that one cannot keep the money earned through corruption under his name, thus “Mian saab, there is nothing in your belongings”. He further added that a lot is yet to come ahead as “the party has just begun!”
PTI chief expressed his disappointment over the blackout of the speeches given in the National Assembly (NA) by the opposition members on the Pakistan Television (PTV). “PTV runs on the tax money paid by the public” Khan said.
He demanded that an investigation team, headed by the Chief Justice, comprising of experts be formed to probe into the Panama Leaks.
