RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Tuesday met with the leader of the Chinese Communist Party’s political bureau Zhang Chunxian as both discussed matters of mutual interest and the security situation of the region.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) department, other matters that were brought up during the discussion between the two were the increase in the cooperation between China and India regarding matters related to security and defence.
General Raheel stated during the discussion that a safe environment will be ensured in the country in order to ensure the completion of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project on time.
The 2018 Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) annual conference is scheduled for April 8 to 11 in Boao, Hainan Province. The forum will be themed "An Open and Innovative Asia for a World of Greater Prosperity."
