RAHIM YAR KHAN: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) exhibited its political muscle in Southern Punjab on Saturday as party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari while addressed the procession and stated that his party is fighting against the profiteers and the invaders.
The procession that was attended by a large number of people. Bilawal stated that Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto rebelled for the poor as he was of the opinion that those who divide the people are the profit-seekers and that he was sentenced to death upon advising the people to unite.
He further added that the martyred Zulfiqar Bhutto raised the slogan that the power lies in the hands of the people. He said that Bhutto never wanted a divided Pakistan for the rich and the poor as in modern times, there are many who seem to be talking about the issues of the poor but only Bhutto knew how to sacrifice for the poor of his country.
While referring to his late mother, Benazir Bhutto, Bilawal said that she picked up the flag of her father after he was no more and continued to fight for the rights of the poor. He added that despite being a woman, Benazir confronted all elements of oppression and rebelled against the system.
Bilawal stated that Bhutto’s grandson now holds his flag and addresssing to the mass in front of him, he said “I will never abandon you!”
PPP Chairman said that the condition of South Punjab is evident before all and that the farmers of the region lack adequate resources. He said that the farmers of Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan face a similar situation.
He added that the farmers are being treated in such manner because of their support for shaheed Bhutto. While referring to Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif, Bilawal said “Mian Sahib! You have shattered the dreams of a prosperous future of the farmers.”
The 2018 Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) annual conference is scheduled for April 8 to 11 in Boao, Hainan Province. The forum will be themed "An Open and Innovative Asia for a World of Greater Prosperity."
