LAHORE: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah said on Tuesday that media did biased reporting on four high profile cases in Punjab. He was addressing a press conference in Lahore.
According to details, Rana Sanaullah addressed the press conference along with Inspector General (IG) police Mushtaq Sukhera and other police officials in which he said that media’s biased reporting on four high profile cases hurt the image of Punjab on international level. The ‘high profile’ cases were those of chopping of a man s hands, rape case of 15-year old girl, sewing of a man s lips and the robbery and murder case of a pregnant woman.
Rana said that media showed only one side of the picture while reporting on these cases while the investigation of the police proved the facts to be otherwise. He said that in these cases, boy’s hands were cut by mistake, in gang rape case, girl was only attacked but not raped, in pregnant woman case, the woman was killed by her own husband due to family conflicts while sewing of lips was done by the victim himself to blackmail his opponents.
Answering a question about Pathankot case and the banned outfit, Rana Sanaullah said that the results of the investigation will be shared soon with media.
