ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court of Pakistan ordered on Wednesday to indict Inspector General (IG) Sindh Ghulam Haider Jamali on February the 2nd in contempt of court case.
According to the details, the court issued its ruling after a three-member bench chaired by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali resumed hearing of the case. The SC bench ordered indictment of the IG Sindh for retaining Saifullah Palphoto on deputation in the Anti Corruption Department (ACD) of Sindh twice in violation of earlier court order. The bench also ordered charge-sheeting of Saifullah Palphoto. Earlier, the apex court turned down Jamali’s unconditional apology he filed in the case. Report said Palphoto was inducted into police department in 1995 as assistant sub-inspector and later elevated to the position of Inspector in Grade 16 in 2002. He was later promoted in the ACD Sindh in Grade 17 and then to 18 as a deputy director.
