ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency – responsible for immigration services at Pakistan’s international airports – on Wednesday sent a deportee back to the United States over lack of paperwork and slapped a Turkish airline with $5000 fine for oversight.
According to details, the Federal Interior Ministry is implementing its deportation policy in full swing. A deportee was sent back to the US because he did not carry required documents while the airline was fined for allowing the passenger board the plane.
Reportedly, the FIA sent Syed Shahid Ali back to the US along with the US police officials at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport Islamabad.
The US police officials were told that required regulation was not followed while deporting Ali and no deportee can be accepted without the required paperwork.
The Interior Ministry has sent a notice of $5000 fine to the Turkish airline for letting the deportee board the aircraft and travel without the required paperwork.
Earlier on December 3, 30 people deported from Greece were sent back over lack of verification while on December 9, 6 people deported from the United Kingdom (UK) were sent back.
On December 20, the Interior Ministry had deported Australian cricketer Dean Jones for traveling to Pakistan without a valid visa while ordering inquiry against the Emirates airline for violation.
