ISLAMABAD: Taking action on a news report, Federal Interior Minister on Saturday ordered to suspend Investigating Officer and Station House Officer (SHO) Shalimar Police Station for registering a case against a 3-year-old boy.
Both officials have been suspended on orders of the Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar. A show cause notice has also been served to the Superintendent of Police (SP) on the minister’s orders questioning why was the First Information Report (FIR) registered against a child without verification.
The federal minister has also sought an explanation from the Inspector General (IG) Punjab and has directed action against the said police officials.
He said the offending police officials have caused embarrassment to the institution and therefore disciplinary action must be taken against them.
