LAHORE: Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Senator Pervez Rashid on Sunday said two-three members of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) may have personal differences but this has no links whatsoever with the leadership or the party.
Pervez Rashid expressed these views while addressing a media program and later talking to media persons here.
The Information Minister clarified that none of the leaders or workers of PML-N had acted against party policy.
Earlier, he said media has a significant role to play for the development and progress of a society. He said when all else fails in neutralizing a threat, it is only the journalists who can provide a most effective remedy with the help of what they wield in their hands.
“Your weapon is the most effective and therefore as much caution is needed to be exercised to operate it,” he told the media men.
He said a conventional arm only has a power to affect a limited area but the impact created by media’s ‘weapon’ has an unlimited reach. “Therefore, you should think 100 times before using yours. It is the producer’s job to desist from airing criticism whose sole aim is to vilify others,” he added.
The 2018 Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) annual conference is scheduled for April 8 to 11 in Boao, Hainan Province. The forum will be themed "An Open and Innovative Asia for a World of Greater Prosperity."
