Islamabad—Capital Development Authority (CDA) has completed up-gradation and maintenance work of 14 water filtration plants out of a total of 38 filtration plants in Islamabad.
The maintenance work on remaining water filtration plants would be completed the next week. The water samples from eight (08) filtration plants have also been collected and tested by Pakistan Council of Research for Water Resources (PCRWR).
It is pertinent to mention that CDA has earlier decided to upgrade all existing water filtration plants and allocated Rs 16.67 million for the up-gradation and maintenance operation of water filtration plants in the city, said a press release.
Moreover, survey for identification of sites to install more water filtration plants particularly in densely populated residential areas and busy shopping centres of the city has also been completed and work on the installation of new water filtration plants would be started after the completion of codel formalities.
