RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif landed in Munich, Germany on Monday for a day-long official visit.
The COAS will address participants of the Central South Asia Security Conference, Director-General Inter-Services Public Relations Lieutenant-General Asim Bajwa said in a tweet posted on his official Twitter account.
Last week, the Army Chief visited troops along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir on the eve of Eidul Azha and celebrated Eid with troops in Khyber Agency.
The COAS’ visit to Germany comes just a day after Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif met German Chancellor Angela Merkel on the sidelines of the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Merkel appreciated progress made by Pakistan in its efforts to counter terrorism and acknowledged the country’s contribution towards regional peace and stability.
