ISLAMABAD- Federal Minister for Commerce Engineer Khurram Dastgir Khan has said that China Pakistan Economic Corridor was a mega project that was all set to reshape the economy of the entire region and that was why Pakistan government was making all the sincere, productive and untiring efforts for speedy progress on CPEC.
He expressed these views while talking to a group of senior journalists from Pakistan-China Media Friendship Association, led by the Chairman of the association Makhdoom Babar who is also the President and Editor-in-Chief of The Daily Mail, the group also included a high level Chinese media delegation of China’s Yunan Daily Press Group Kunming,Yunnan Province China, comprising Mr. Wang Xufei, Director of Comments/editorial section ,Mr.Zhang Tong, Deputy Director of Photography Department, Mr. Yang Zhihui, Reporter, Mr. Zu Hongbing, Reporter and Ms.Lian Huiling Reporter of The Spring City Evening News. The delegation had arrived from China on the invitation of The Daily Mail to hold high level interviews over CPEC and One Belt-One Road.
Minister for Commerce further said that Commerce Ministry was comprehensively involved and engaged in contributing to the CPEC and all efforts for the projects immense success were being made by the Commerce Ministry. The Minister further said that there was a huge potential of bilateral trade between Pakistan and China but it was not explored to the full at all. He said the CPEC where was bound to bring a revolutionary economical change there at the same time it was going to take Pakistan-China bilateral trade to entirely new horizons. He said Pakistan’s Commerce Ministry was making sure that maximum trade benefits should be obtained from CPEC and the trade balance between the two countries should be taken to entirely new and historic heights. He said that Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Nawaz Sharif was taking a personal interest in CPEC and was monitoring the progress on the development personally. “ he is taking a very personal interest in the CPEC and is holding regular meetings to check the progress on the project”, said the Minister.
