ISLAMABAD- Federal Minister for Climatic Changes Mr. Mushahid Ullah has said that China Pakistan Economic Corridor ( CPEC) was set to change the economies of the individuals and was poised to bring an economic revolution in the entire region. He expressed these views while talking to a group of senior journalists from Pakistan-China Media Friendship Association, led by the Chairman of the association Makhdoom Babar who is also the President and Editor-in-Chief of The Daily Mail, the group also included a high level Chinese media delegation of China’s Yunan Daily Press Group Kunming,Yunnan Province China, comprising Mr. Wang Xufei, Director of Comments/editorial section ,Mr.Zhang Tong, Deputy Director of Photography Department, Mr. Yang Zhihui, Reporter, Mr. Zu Hongbing, Reporter and Ms.Lian Huiling Reporter of The Spring City Evening News. The delegation had arrived from China on the invitation of The Daily Mail to hold high level interviews over CPEC and One Belt-One Road.
Mushahid Ullah said that said that since the CPEC and One Belt-One Road were the mega projects that were set to change the economies of both the governments and the individuals in the entire region, the countries that are conspiring against CPEC should better start supporting these projects and instead start getting benefited from the same. Mushahid Ullah said that the CPEC was going to bring a revolution to lives of common people of the entire region and the people of Pakistan and China were going to be the top beneficiaries. He said that the CPEC was also going to bring a variety of jobs and haul of facilities to underprivileged areas of Pakistan and the price of the land even in the deserted and remote areas of Pakistan were going to get new values. He said that since Gwadar was the only deep sea port in the area, those countries of the region who do not have this facility, should also come forward and instead of opposing CPEC, should star getting benefits out of it.
To a question, he said that initial funds have already been allocated by the government of Pakistan for the speedy work on CPEC and with the dynamic leadership existing at both Islamabad and Beijing, it was very much expected that the work on CPEC would start progressing at an amazing pace. To another question, the Minister said that his message for both the Pakistani and Chinese people as well as policy makers was that they should not get bothered by the confrontation of the CPEC and conspiracies against this mega project but the work should be pushed forward with utmost dedication and commitment.
Hailing China’s abilities to handle challenges of climatic changes, the Minister said that he was very much impressed by China’s abilities to tackle issues like smog and industrial and vehicle emission. He said China’s methodologies in this direction were a model to be followed by the rest of the world. He said that since CPEC was poised to bring huge industrial activity in Pakistan, China’s skills to deal with industrial emission would be very helpful to ensure clean and clear climate in the area.
