ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid on Thursday assured journalists that the government was working to address problems of journalists on priority basis.
However, matters pertaining to the issues of the employees of Bol News will be addressed within the next couple of days.
The Information Minister urged the media owners to nominate their representatives for the wage board award otherwise it would be announced unilaterally.
He said in order to resolve people’s problems he would always prefer to go for legal procedure and not to opt for any illegal way.
Referring to the challenges faced by the country, the Information Minister said Pakistan of 2015 was much better than that of 2013.
He urged the media to play its role to further bring improvement in the situation.
He said that he has some responsibilities as information minister and he was answerable to the government, Media, Senate, National Assembly and their standing committees.
All the employees and the owners were equal in government’s eyes and it was the responsibility of government not to let them bogged down in economic pressures, he added.
The 2018 Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) annual conference is scheduled for April 8 to 11 in Boao, Hainan Province. The forum will be themed "An Open and Innovative Asia for a World of Greater Prosperity."
