ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan said on Monday that it had been proven that several constituencies had extra ballot papers, adding that the extra printing of papers was not been evenly distributed across constituencies.
“Some constituencies received 3 extra ballot papers, while some received 120,000,” the PTI chief said, adding that “VIP constituencies” decidedly received more extra ballot papers.
Imran said that two of Captain Safdar’s constituencies in K-P and Hamza Sharif’s constituency received more than 10% extra ballot papers.
Imran Khan added that proof of rigging till now has only been unearthed in the first phase of the process and that there will be a second phase and a third phase.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) also informed the Inquiry Commission that 11,725,728 extra ballot papers were printed in the May 2013 general elections.
The ECP submitted the data regarding the printing of extra ballot papers since the past seven years. 6.89 per cent extra ballot papers were printed in the last elections.
The judicial commission has already been told by the ruling Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) and postal corporation that the process of printing ballot papers was carried out under the supervision of the armed forces and representatives of the Election Commission of Pakistan.
In the next hearing of the Judicial Commission on May 21, NADRA Chairman Usman Mobeen has been called in to stand as witness and FAFEN head Muddassir Rizvi has also been summoned on May 22.
