RAWALPINDI: Metro Bus Project (MBP) Chairman Muhammad Hanif Abbasi on Sunday said that all-out efforts were being made to complete the project as soon as possible.
“The government is committed to resolve the problems of people and that is why it has started mega projects to overcome the pressing demands of energy and other similar necessities of life,” he added in a statement.
Abbasi termed the metro bus project a remarkable initiative of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, who had realized the hardships of the commuters of twin cities and the residents of suburbs. This project, which would cater the transportation requirements of the citizens was now in its final stages, he added.
He said that all-out efforts were being made to accomplish the task within the shortest possible time frame. Although rains had affected the pace of work, however the contractors were trying their best to discharge responsibility without any further delay. Over 70% work of Murree Road under Metro Bus from Committee Chowk to Sixth Road had also been completed and efforts were being made to complete the remaining work, he added.
He said the first Metro Bus Station located at Chandni Chowk had been completed, with over 95 percent construction work of Package II from Committee Chowk to Sixth Road Chowk.
