ISLAMABAD – Crime rate in Islamabad has been considerably declined due to effective crime control measures,regular vigilance and monitoring by the Islamabad police.
A comparative assessment of crime data from the month of September 2014 to up till revealed that the cases of murder, kidnapping for ransom, dacoity, theft, robberies, street crimes, car and motorcycle lifting .snatching have been considerably decreased in Islamabad.
Similarly the recovery rate of illicit weapons, narcotics and stolen goods has been increased by 25% as a result of effective crime control mechanism adopted by the Islamabad police.
Likewise,the murder cases reduced by 18 per cent, kidnapping for ransom cases reduced by 33 per cent, dacoity cases reduced by 49 per cent, robbery cases reduced by 40 per cent, theft cases reduced by 45 per cent, car lifting reduced by 27 per cent and motor cycles theft cases reduced by 7 per cent.
According to details, on the special directions of Minister for Interior, Ch. Nisar Ali Khan, IGP Islamabad, Tahir Alam Khan took special security and crime control measures and ensured the protection of life and property of citizens.
He focused on detection of crimes through involving the citizens in crime control, community policing and constitution of citizen vigilance committees at Thana level.
Comparison of crime data depicts that 69 case of murder were registered in Islamabad from September 2014 to date, whereas 84 murder cases registered during the same period of last year,18 per cent reduction in murder cases has been reported comparatively during the corresponding period.
During the same period 6 cases of kidnaping for ransom registered in Islamabad, whereas 9 cases registered due to the correspond period,Kidnaping cases also reduces by 33 percent.
Similarly 32 cases of dacoity registered in Islamabad, whereas 63 cases registered compared to correspond period, Dacoity cases also reduces 49 per cent, 262 cases of robberies registered in Islamabad, whereas 435 cases registered due to the correspond period,Robberies cases also reduces 40 per cent.
Likewise, 177 cases of burglaries registered in Islamabad, whereas 270 cases registered due to the correspond period, Burglaries cases also reduces by 45 per cent. While,382 cases of vehicles lifting registered in Islamabad, whereas 521 cases registered due to the correspond period,Vehicle lifting cases also reduces 27 per cent.
Similarly 1123 cases of arms ammunition , narcotic and stolen property registered in Islamabad, whereas 900 cases registered due to the correspond period.
