ISLAMABAD–Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has lauded Rangers’ action on Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) headquarters Nine Zero, saying the people of Karachi would enjoy freedom soon.
Talking to media here on Thursday, Khan said that the Rangers operation was a sign of change for Karachi; it came late but it’s a welcome sign for the people of the city. “Rangers did the right job but this action should been taken years before,” he asserted.
Khan said this operation will lead to freedom of citizens of Karachi from the politics of terror. He said that no one is safe in the metropolis neither lawmakers nor the security personnel.
Commenting on the recovery of arms and ammunition from MQM headquarter Nine-Zero, Imran Khan said PTI would have been banned if such huge cache of weapons recovered from the party office.
He alleged MQM for killing PTI’s Zahra Shahid. Zahra Shahid was killed late on the night of May 18, 2013 in an attempted robbery incident on the eve of re-polls in Karachi’s NA-250 constituency.
“MQM workers killed Zehra Shahid in Karachi but no eye witness is ready to appear before court because of fear”, said Imran Khan.
“Asif Zardari and Nawaz Sharif always tried to save MQM but now Rangers is doing a good job which will wipe out terrorism from the city,” he told reporters.
The PTI chief said that he has no doubt in NADRA’s capabilities to verify thumbprints as long as they act independently.
“This is the first time election fraud is being investigated and we look forward for the results within a month,” he said, referring to ongoing litigation over NA-122 vote fraud case.
