WASHINGTON–The US expressed appreciation on Wednesday for Pakistan’s latest efforts to expand bilateral cooperation with Afghanistan towards security of the landlocked country.
She was commenting on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif’s visit to Kabul a day earlier, where he held meetings with top Afghan leaders and pledged cooperation for Afghan security amid the ongoing transition at the end of the war.
“We know that obviously there’s a one day meeting to discuss security cooperation so certainly we think that falls into the category of efforts to deepen cooperation which we would support,” the spokesperson added.
