ISLAMABAD–Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervez Rashid on Saturday said that nobody wants to talk about political affairs until the brutal Peshawar attack at least completes 40 days.
“We should all pledge to take those to task who soaked their hands with blood of innocent children in Peshawar. He said we must get Pakistan rid of terrorism to secure future of our children,” he said while expressing in a press conference in Islamabad.
He said that the allegations by Khan regarding rigging in the General Elections 2013 could not be proved. He said that votes have been recounted and Khan’s accusations are false. He said that in the constituency NA-122, Khan lost and Ayaz Sadiq won.
The Information Minister pointed out that in recounting votes of Speaker Ayaz Sadiq have increased and that of Imran Khan decreased.
Any vote bearing no signature of presiding officer is rejected, he said, adding that votes cannot be declared as bogus or genuine at anybody’s wish.
“Imran Khan should now accept the result of Election Commission,” he stressed.
Rashid also admired the fact that Khan submitted electricity bill of his Bani Gala residence after he had announced to follow civil disobedience.
He further said that the courts and Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) function on the basis of their rules and laws.
The Minister said Pakistan is passing through a critical phase requiring complete consensus and concentration of the nation on the war against terror.
Speaking on this occasion, PML-N leader Daniyal Aziz demanded that Khan apologise to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif over his baseless allegations of rigging. No evidence was presented about the allegations leveled from the container, he said.
