ISLAMABAD-Vice Chancellor of Allama Iqbal Open University(AIOU) Dr. Shahid Sidiqui has urged the youth to seek aspirations and guidance from the Holy Quran and ‘Seerat-un-Nabi’ for having a prosperous and peaceful life and to meet the challenges of the present time.
“The Holy book is a complete code of conduct for a happy and successful living and we only need to follow it in practical life in a letter and spirit, “ he said while addressing the International Mefil-e-Husn-e-Qir’at” held here on Wednesday under the auspices of Abdul Wadood Centre for Quranic Science, AIOU in connection with Eid-i-Milad-un-Nabi’.
It was organized in collaboration with the Iranian Cultural Consulate and Roomi Form (Turkey) to pay tributes to the Holy prophet (PBUH) on the auspicious occasion.
Dr. Shahid Siddiqui said the Holy Book in view of its unique contents holds a supreme position providing guidance for the benefit of the entire humanity. The AIOU he said will always be on forefront in spreading the message of Quran an Sunnah World-wide.
The Vice Chancellor praised the services of late Abdul Wadood (former Officer of the Univesity)for his efforts in promoting Quranic Sciences.
The University’s main campus is being turned into Centre of Cultural and academic activities. “ All those inside and outside of the University will be welcomed to hold activities which help to reform the society and mould the life of the people in accordance with the eternal teachings of Islam, he added.
Mehfil-e-Qir’a. was participated by a number of prominent Qaris and Naat Khawans from home and abroad. Abdul Basid Mujahid, Focal person of the Centre and representatives of Iranian Consulate and Roomi Forum also spoke on the occasion.
