ISLAMABAD – Senator Tahir Hussain here on Wednesday urged the Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) to follow required procedures for taking the culprits to task.
Speaking on a point of order, Tahir Hussain said that more than 400 Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) workers were killed in the
last two months. He also expressed concern over the killing of a MQM worker, Syed Qasid Ali also known as Sikandar on Tuesday.
Senator Tahir Hussain and his party also staged a token walkout over the killing of the MQM worker.
Speaking on another point of order, Senator Ghulam Ali said that the innocent people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Tribal Areas have remained the main target of terrorists. He urged the government to focus on economic prosperity of the people by introducing industrialization policy for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Tribal Areas.
He said that the government should issue directions to Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to follow the decisions of Supreme Court and High Courts in letter and spirit regarding industrialization policy in KPK and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).
The government, he said should announce compensation package for the terrorism affected people of FATA and KPK. Later, the session was adjourned to meet again on Thursday at 11: 00 am.
