ISLAMABAD, An international workshop on current developments and applications of Mathematical Sciences will be organized here from January 5-7 to promote a culture of research and higher learning within OIC member states.
The workshop, to be arranged by OIC Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH), is also aimed at promoting cultural and scientific harmony in scientists of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) countries.
The other objectives are to lay a strong foundation of future research collaboration and mathematical culture and to break the isolation and inculcate new ideas and higher dimensions of thought, learning and innovations.
According to COMSTECH here on Friday, a special session will be organized with the international speakers to draw a plan for understanding and continuity of research collaborations amongst the visiting scientists, their respective universities and to develop research groups within the OIC.
The main contents of the workshop are mathematical modeling, approximate solutions to nonlinear differential systems,
computations through numerical simulation, latest developments in functional analysis, current topics in Algebraic geometry, fuzzy systems, symmetry analysis and dynamical systems.
The participants would be young faculty, PhD scholars and post-graduate researchers from public and private sector universities, institutes and research and development organizations.
The workshop will focus in broader sense on pure, applied and computational mathematics.
