ISLAMABAD–A night fire exercise was conducted by Management of Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) at Benazir Bhutto International Airport here last night as a part of preparedness plan to coup any emergency.
According to press release from Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) issued here, the scenario of exercise was an aircraft type ATR of X-Air XA-299 with 15 passengers on board made a crash landing near runway 30 end. Star board side wing disintegrated and caught fire.
It started with simulated by burning fuel in fire pit near isolated bay. Emergency calls were made to the concerned departments.
The PCAA and PAF fire fighting vehicles responded to the call immediately. Rescue and fire fighters carried out rescue operation from aircraft and medical services prioritized casualties in triage area.
The medical mission provided first aid and shifted the injured to the nearest hospital.
During this mock aircraft accident exercise, three seriously injured and two casualties of minor injured shifted on stretchers to PCAA medical center.
A team of observers from Airlines, PCAA and ASF observed the critique.
Spokesman of PCAA, Mubarik Shah said that such exercises are very important to face the real emergencies if happened.
It is pertinent that PCAA regularly conducts such exercise as per annual schedule as a part of their preparedness plan to coup such emergencies.
