Through these calls, 3565 people were provided general information while 1615 distressed calls were immediately responded and assistance was provided to the people.
Out of these calls, 142 were related to ambulance service while police staff at various desks in hospitals including PIMS and Poly Clinic provided immediate help to 559 persons.
Meanwhile, 78 crime scenes were visited by Rescue 15 staff for collecting evidences and providing assistance during investigation process. Bomb Disposal Squad checked 2179 vehicles at various entry points and Vehicles’ Verification Cell checked 536 cars as well as motorbikes.
Meanwhile, staff of WAPDA, Fire brigade and SNGPL were also conveyed complaints of citizens for immediate redressal.
One child Farhad Riaz resident of G-8 was reunited with their families and efforts of Rescue 15 were lauded by the family of this child. IGP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan has said that Rescue 15 is delivering valuable services for the cause of humanity and helping people out from the distressed situations.
He said that vehicles have been provided to Rescue 15 for helping citizens and `respond time’ of this service is only four minutes. He appreciated the staff of Rescue 15 and further directed to maintain the quality of service with professional commitment and dedications.”
The way Rescue 15 is serving the citizens is praise worthy,” he maintained. SSP Islamabad has directed in-charge Rescue 15 to make concerted efforts and ensure visit of the venue of incident in time as well as save the exhibits till the arrival of the local police. In case of injury, he said the injured persons should be given first aid immediately.
The IGP Tahir Alam Khan has said that Rescue 15 should discharge their duties with zeal. He said relief and rescue services should be further improved with the changing requirements of the time and maximum relief to be provided to the citizens so that gap between police and public could be removed.
