Police Officer receives award from British Govt
ISLAMABAD—The British Government has granted an award to Sub-Inspector Nazar Muhammad in recognition of his work in the investigation of the murder of a British citizen, Khurram Mukhtar.
British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Mr Robert Brinkley on Wednesday 29 July presented the award on behalf of Greater Manchester Police Serious Crime Division. The award was presented on recognising the good work by by Sub Inspector Nazar Muhammad during the initial investigation of the murder of Khurram Mukhtar on 30th December 2006. Sub-Inspector Nazar Muhammad also gave evidence at court in the UK during the murder trial, which resulted in the suspect's conviction and sentence to 21 years , imprisonment each.
The recipientSub Inspector Nazar Muhammad works at Taxila Police Station but at the time was working at Waris Khan police station. Senior Superintendent Yaseen Farooq, head of operations for Rawalpindi District, accompanied Sub-Inspector Nazar Muhammad.
