Capital Cops go miles in a year!

—Catch 12173, recover stolen property worth Rs.23,98,80,109

ISLAMABAD—Capital Cops, during the year 2008, has arrested 12173 outlaws involved in robberies, day/night burglaries, dacoities and vehicle thefts while recovering stolen property worth Rs.23,98,80,109/= from their possession. Moreover, 477 proclaimed offenders were also arrested during the said period. Challans of 3394 cases were rectified and submitted in the courts. Moreover, on the special directives of SSP Islamabad, Capital Cops, during drives against anti-social elements in 2008, busted 318 gangs and accused comprising 1219 were arrested and recovered stolen property worth Rs 21,95,70,145/= from them.
According to details, Capital Cops arrested 896 accused and recovered stolen property worth Rs. 2,38,21,332/-. PS Margalla arrested 1198 accused and recovered stolen property worth 5,15,45,650/-. PS Industrial Area arrested 1982 accused and recovered stolen property worth Rs. 38,11,1340/-. PS Saddar arrested 727 accused and recovered stolen property worth Rs 6,99,73,650/-. PS Secretariat arrested 586 accused and recovered stolen property worth Rs 87,00,773/-. Rural circle cops arrested 637 accused and recovered stolen property worth Rs,1,17,03,095/-. PS Shehzad Town arrested 1080 and recovered stolen property worth Rs, 5,71,43,00/-. Rural Circle cops arrested 603 accused and recovered stolen property worth 1,17,03,095/-.
330 accused involved in street crime were arrested and recovered items from them included 363 mobile phones and 10 vehicles. 302 accused indulged in running of brothel houses, 156 accused involved in gambling and Rs.707870/-, T.Vs and wristwatches. 520 accused involved in narcotics were arrested and 487kg Charas, 47kg Heroin, 30kg Opium and 16517 bottles of liquor were recovered. 678 accused involved in selling of illicit arms were nabbed while Klashnikovs, 79 guns, 56 pistols, 51 revolvers and 32869 shells were recovered. 94 cases of murders including 32 blind murders were worked out and 124 criminals got booked. 425 accused involved in kidnapping and Zina (including kidnapping for ransom) were caught and challaned in various cases. 3807 challans were submitted in the courts. 2273 offenders were proceeded against U/S 55/109 CRPC and 3037 persons were bound down U/S 107/151-CrPC.
SSP Islamabad Captain (R) Ahmad Latif has further directed all SDPOs and SHOs to ensure protection of life and property of the masses and take effective measures against the criminals. Moreover, he has ordered patrolling to be increased in the Capital to help eliminate street crimes all around while calling for the PPCs to be made more effective.

ACLC nabs 5, recovers 3 stolen vehicles

ISLAMABAD—Anti Car Lifting Cell, Islamabad has arrested 05 accused of inter-provincial gang and recovered 3 stolen vehicles. The accused before stealing the vehicles and after tampering them sold out by preparing bogus documents. According to details, on the special directions of SSP Islamabad Captain (R) Ahmad Latif, In-charge ACLC constituted special team headed by Inspector Khalid Masood Akram and assigned the important task to dig out and trace the criminals involved in carjacking.
The team started investigation and after hectic efforts, nabbed 4 culprits of inter-provincial gangs namely Hafiz Nosharwan s/o Hakim Mohammad Zaman, Shamshad Khan s/o Khan Zaman, Qaisar Raza s/o Noor Muhammad and Mohammad Shafique s/o Mohammad Rafique and recovered stolen vehicles from their possession bearing bogus Registration Nos. T-9230 Karachi and AFS-377 Karachi. The accused after tampering the vehicles sold them out on bogus documents. The culprits stole vehicles from other districts. Meanwhile SI Ilyas Ahmed of PS Aabpara arrested one accused namely Muhammad Irshad s/o Sharifullah r/o Batagram and recovered stolen vehicle Suzuki Mehran Car No.IDC-802. Separate cases have been registered against the accused and further investigation is under way.
