Pothohari dictionary published

ISLAMABAD—The first ever Pothohari dictionary of a broadcaster and writer Sharif Shad was launched here on Saturday. The writer has compiled more than 10,000 Pothohari words and proverbs in his comprehensive dictionary encompassing Urdu translation and description, says a press release issued here. Pothohari-Urdu Dictionary will act as a milestone for development of Pothohari language which is commonly spoken in the northern Pothohar Plateau and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Sharif Shad completed the hardcore work with an immense effort of past twenty years. The work is helpful in preservation of ancient words and axioms of Pothohari language which will be a great research source for linguists and discourse analysts of regional languages.
