8 cops abducted in D I Khan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN—SHO among 8 cops have been kidnapped when they were busy in routine checking near Darazanda Draban turn.
SHO Draban Police Station, Aqeel Khan Wazir, ASI Zaman Khan, cops Irfan, Munawar, Majeed Wajib, Ali Imran, Kafait and Mohammed Omer were on routine patrolling when some unidentified men abducted them. The abductors also took Police van into their possession. The abductors took them towards tribal area of F R Dera. Security has been high alerted after the abduction and road leading to the area have also been sealed. Police have started operation for search of their colleagues.
The NWFP Governor, Owais Ahmed Ghani has said that militancy in NWFP and FATA was in the roll back process, however, he said that this phenomena was a very big challenge for our country and we cannot afford any failure in fulfilling our responsibilities in over coming it.
