Zero Point Interchange to be completed in 2 phases

ISLAMABAD—The administration of Capital Development Authority (CDA) despite of three years failed to finalize the design of Zero Point Interchange and now it has been decided to complete the project in two phases.
According to sources, it has been decided, that no tenders would be invited for Shakarparian Loop for the time being however tenders would be invited for all other construction work and the construction firms have been pre-qualified for this purpose. The tenders would be sought at the end of this month and work order would be issued next month.
The project would be completed with the total cost of Rs. 2.40 billion in two years. It may be recalled that Chairman CDA soon after assuming the charge directed the authorities concerned to construct interchange on Zero Point to resolve the terrible traffic jam.
