Young brick-kiln labourers recovered on IHC direction
ISLAMABAD—Police officials of Karal have recovered the five disappeared
young brick-kiln labourers and produced them in Islamabad High Court
here Friday.
The single bench comprising Chief Justice Sardar Mohammad Aslam had
directed the concerned police officials on Thursday to apprise the court
next day by taking prompt legal action against the responsible. Mohammad
Sharif, appeared before the court and apprised it that he was an
incharge of a brick-kiln in Mandi Bahauddin and these children had been
working there.
He said that he took the children with him after making a payment of Rs
101,000 to Chaudhry Riaz, an accused brick kiln owner of Karal, as he
had paid this amount in advance to the parents of these children. He
strongly denied all the accusations made in the writ petition and said
that their parents knew the fact and if they wanted to get children then
they should repay him the outstanding amount. Chaudhry Riaz also
admitted these facts. Chief Justice Sardar Mohammad Aslam directed
Mohammad Sharif to hand over all the children, which he had brought with
him, to their parents Mansab Bai and Manzoor. He suggested that if he
had any outstanding amount, he should file a civil suit in the District
and Session Court Islamabad or Mandi Bahuddin but he could not keep the
children forcibly with him.
A writ petition was filed by Mansab Bai through her counsel Zulfiqal Ali
Azhar Bhutta advocate, in which she alleged that Chaudhry Munir,
Chaudhry Riaz and Chaudhry Ahson, owners of brick-kilns in Karal, had
kept them in forced detention where they were subjected to inhuman
conditions.
